What I Learned From A Trip To The Taco Shack
A trip tp the local taco shack made me stop and think about the reasons people do what they do.
I recently went to a new place. I have driven past it countless times and sign simply says “The Best Barbacoa In The World.” I mean, that is purely subjective, right? But could it be that this guy actually does make some pretty good barbacoa? I had to find out.
The Saturday after Thanksgiving my wife and I decided to get into the car and go find out. Actually, if I am honest we were on the hunt for tamales, which they also had, but when I got there I realized that I could not leave without some this barbacoa.
So, I ordered some up and couldn’t wait until I got home to try some. It was either going to be overhyped or it was going to live up to its branding. I had to decide for myself.
After one bite I knew that it was actually pretty darned good. Was it the best in the world? It is certainly up there. You have to respect the fact that this guy named “Larry,” figured out that he could make some pretty good barbacoa and that is was worth putting out there into the world. No wonder people line up for this stuff.
